Personal Goal

Book Review - Power of Now - (Part II)

Are you satisfied with your current state? Are you enjoying being yourself? Do you cherish each moment no matter with or without others? Many people aren't really satisfied with what they own. According to an article written by Nir Eyal published in Psychology Today indicates there are four psychological factors composed dissatisfaction: boredom, negativity bias, rumination and hedonic adaptation. What do people do when they feel unsatisified? They may pursue new goals that continually capture their attention but ignoring potential risks.

Surprise in Life

"Surprise!" This is the most classic sentence we often hear in our daily lives. Do you remember the last time you received a surprise? Whether the surprise is good or bad, do you accept it? To be honest, I don't like surprises. Especially when your situation is bad enough and you still have bills to pay and responsibilities to bear. I often prepare surprises for myself. In fact, these are not surprising. These are rewards when you complete tasks. I call them surprises because I don’t know what I’m going to have in store for myself.

Giver and Taker

Our world functions according to rules.   In a study on this topic, Adam Grant states that  there are three types of people in the world.  They are classified as takers, matchers and givers, respectively.   This concept is based on people’s willingness  to share. Takers only care about themselves and won’t share with others. Matchers tend to estimate the profit for themselves before sharing their resources with others.   Givers are always willing to share everything. Surprisingly , givers are the winners in the world, because they follow the rules of life most successfully.

Key to the World

Have you ever dreamed of traveling around the world? Have you ever thought about moving to other city? Our world is so big that we should spend some time to broaden our horizons. You may feel alone when you're on the road. You may be panic when faced with something uncomfortable. When it happens, we still need to smile, be positive and be calm. These are trivial things that won't bother you.
