Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a full-time Bus Driver/Automotive Mechanic with full benefits. This position involves the operation of an automotive vehicle used to transport students and/or passengers and the efficient performance of a variety of automotive repair and machinist tasks.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

1. Performs skilled operations in making general repairs on gasoline and diesel motor equipment;
2. Grinds valves and fits new bearing, pistons and rings;
3. Assembles and times engines;
4. Operates a bus on a regular schedule and/or on special trips;
5. Checks operating condition of the bus before starting trip;
6. Maintains orderly conduct of students and passengers while on bus;
7. Related work as required.

Minimum qualifications:

1. Class B permit with P&S endorsements (training available upon hiring)
2. Two years of experience performing skilled automotive repair work or comparable courses in automotive mechanics and repair plus one year of experience performing skilled automotive repair work.
3. Must be 21 years of age
