The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. THEi offers over 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. Major Duties :

The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and support students in their learning, and provide assistance to drive initiatives and develop strategic and operation plans of the newly developed Integrated Digital Science Sports Management Centre (IDSSMC).  The IDSSMC aims to facilitate collaborative projects with industry partners, focus on critical areas such as youth athlete development, digital support in elite sports, scientific measurement of sports performance, and therapeutic support.

Requirements :

The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree, preferably a Doctoral degree, in one of the following areas: Sports Science, Sports and Management, or related fields, with solid teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or relevant experience at a supervisory and/or managerial level in professional practice within the sports industry.  S/he should have substantial experience in programme and curriculum development, as well as good understanding of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and Government-subsidised training schemes.

The appointee will participate in networking, planning and coordinating marketing and publicity activities with the industry.  Experience in supervising students’ Final Year Projects and serving as a programme leader at the degree level would be an advantage.  The appointee will also be expected to have a creative mind, along with good analytical, organisational, interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.

The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.

The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
