Project Engineer (RE-VW)
What you will do
Under general direction, executes assigned equipment projects and ensures that assigned projects are executed profitably, accurately, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customer expectations. Follows consistent and repeatable basic project management practices and follows the formal Johnson Controls equipment order execution process. Develops and provides detailed engineering information and submittals to communicate design, configuration, operating and installation requirements to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls service and necessary subcontractors. How you will do it
- Works with Project Managers on assigned and ad-hoc tasks throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitors and supervises assigned project from inception to handover including overall project planning, progress monitoring
- Ensures project deliverables are in compliance with design specifications, safety, environmental & quality objectives and statutory regulations; accomplishes the project within prescribed programme, resources and project budget
- Manages project risks and establishes project recovery plans when required, resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation
- Liaises and collaborates with clients, external consultants, sub-contractors, statutory parties as well as internal service providers and internal users; attends job progress meetings as required
- Manages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned
- Performs associated cost estimates, prepares proposals and negotiates final settlement price and customer acceptance
- Analyzes financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems; effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to management as required
- Develops and maintains long-term relationship with customers, consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors; ensures subcontractors understand expectation of the project
What we look for
Required
- Degree in Building Service / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
- Minimum of 5 years solid experience on BS / E&M project with proven track record
Preferred
- Experience in managing large-scale building / infrastructure projects in HK will definitely be an advantage
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese
- Effective presentation, negotiation, problem solving and project management skills
- Independent, resourcesful and a good team player
- Willing to work on site office
