“Rise and Design 2024” is an Annual Design Exhibition for PolyU SPEED graduates. "Rise" refers to graduates who will be rising in the future.

「Rise and Design 2024」是為理大專業進修學院畢業生舉辦的年度設計展。「崛起」是指未來將崛起的畢業生。

Design Concept

!? is an act of perception, a feeling of wonder, a rise of things composed of dots, lines, and planes. It represents the initial spark of curiosity, the moment when we encounter something that piques our interest and makes us stop to observe and ponder.

!...?...!?...?!...! is a looping journey of the designer’s perception. It begins with a perceiving an issue, then wondering about the reason behind it, followed by rising to address the problem. This cyclical process reflects the iterative nature of design, where designers constantly observe, question, and explore solutions.

The use of punctuation, such as the exclamation points and question marks, creates a sense of dynamism and flow. The ellipses (...) suggest a pause, a moment of contemplation, before the next step in the journey. This rhythmic pattern mirrors the designer’s thought process, moving from the initial spark of inspiration to the exploration of possible solutions.

By expanding on the imagery and the narrative, we can better convey the designer’s experience of observing, questioning, and problem-solving. The repetitive nature of the punctuation marks emphasizes the iterative nature of the design process, where insights and ideas are constantly refined and revisited.

!? 是一種感知行為，一種驚奇的感覺，是由點、線和麵組成的事物的升起。它代表好奇心最初的火花，是當我們遇到一些事物引起我們的興趣並讓我們停下來觀察和思考的那一刻。

!...?...!?...?!...!是設計師感知的循環之旅。首先是感知問題，然後思考背後的原因，然後採取行動解決問題。這個循環過程反映了設計的迭代本質，設計師不斷觀察、質疑和探索解決方案。
標點符號的使用，如感嘆號和問號，營造出一種活力和流暢的感覺。省略號 (...) 表示在旅程的下一步之前暫停、沉思片刻。這種有節奏的圖案反映了設計師的思考過程，從最初的靈感火花到探索可能的解決方案。

透過擴展圖像和敘事，我們可以更好地傳達設計師觀察、質疑和解決問題的經驗。標點符號的重複性質強調了設計過程的迭代性質，其中見解和想法不斷完善和重新審視。
