Yulee Roots & Rivers
Yulee Roots & Rivers
I created a new mural concept, titled "Yulee Roots & Rivers," that integrates Yulee's nature, history, and community, fitting the Southern-inspired style of Southern Roost's chicken. Emphasizing "deeply rooted community," the design unfolds from left to right (77" high x 538" wide), with a cream-white background and red branding accents. The logo is small in the lower right corner (<24 sq ft).
Visual Storytelling:
Left (Historic Roots, ~150" wide): Beginning with the limestone chimney of the sugar mill, the roots extend into railroad tracks, where sugar cane is "carried," embracing David Levy Yulee's railroad history. Red smoke transforms into rivers of citrus juice.
Center (Community Gathering, ~238" wide): The Welcome Center features animal silhouettes from the White Oak Conservation Center in the background (pelicans and panda elements transform into playful chickens).
Right (Coastal Future, ~150" wide): Transition to Amelia Island Beach, with the Eco-Park Trail emerging from the waves.
Style and Connections: Realistic, whimsical (similar to the previous image), with dominant green and blue tones (pine forest, river), and red accents on the food and "Yulee" text. This composition captures Yulee's subtle yet profound charm: history nurturing nature, community connecting to the future, and perfectly complementing the Southern warmth of Southern Roost.
