General Manager Hong Kong

Responsibilities:

• Formulate, monitor, and achieve the branch’s quarterly objectives;
• Manage costs within the branch and look for continuous efficiencies and improvements;
• Manage branch assets in line with targets, forecasts, and strategy requirements;
• Ensure compliance with internal and external controls and KPI’s set at the global, regional and local levels;
• Build and maintain the spirit of the team;
• Provide guidance, coaching and support to the team;
• Motivate and develop people through performance management systems;
• Work with HR to develop the people through identifying and providing relevant training;
• Partner with existing clients to retain and grow business;
• Manage and develop client relationships from all areas of the branch business;
• Monitor implementation of new accounts to ensure all KPIs are met;
• Seek cost efficiencies and process improvements within different functions of the branch;
• Handle the claim and monitor progress of claims.

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above in Business Administration, Logistics or related disciplines;
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in freight forwarding industry and with minimum 5 years in management role;
• Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of the freight forwarding and logistics business;
• Able to identify areas of operational, financial and people improvement
• Mature, pro-active, well-organized, strong leadership, high sense of responsibility and good interpersonal skills;
• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office);
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
