Last Z : Doomsday Survival Chapter 2
Chapter 2 of Doomsday Alliances: Power Struggles and Betrayals
The howl of zombies echoed through the dilapidated streets, but the tension between the alliances was even more suffocating than the rotting stench in the air. After seizing control of the LDE Alliance, VixentheFox handed over the highest authority to Rvx as promised, yet she remained the unseen puppeteer behind the scenes. Rvx, drunk on power, immediately mobilized the LDE Alliance’s forces and joined hands with the RGSS Alliance to encircle the newly rebuilt C137 Alliance’s base—a reinforced shopping mall on the edge of the ruins.
G-morty stood on the mall’s rooftop, his eyes fixed on the approaching enemy convoy. The C137 Alliance was still fledgling, with only a handful of experienced fighters and limited ammunition. “We can’t hold off a two-front attack,” growled a subordinate beside him, gripping a shotgun stained with zombie gore. G-morty’s jaw tightened; he knew retreat was impossible—this was the only safe zone they’d managed to secure after weeks of scavenging. Just as the first round of gunfire erupted, a roar cut through the chaos. Jhayyyy, leading a team of L4H Alliance warriors, charged from the side alley, their machetes slashing through the LDE Alliance’s vanguard.
“G-morty, we owe you one!” Jhayyyy shouted as he decapitated a hostile soldier. After joining L4H, he’d learned of VixentheFox’s true colors and couldn’t stand by while she manipulated alliances for personal gain. The sudden reinforcement caught Rvx off guard. His troops, composed of disgruntled former members from various alliances, began to waver as L4H’s disciplined fighters pushed forward. VixentheFox, watching from a distant armored vehicle, frowned. She hadn’t anticipated L4H intervening—her miscalculation threatened to unravel everything.
Meanwhile, Husnain5716 wandered the ruins like a lost soul. After being abandoned by VixentheFox, he’d become a drifter, surviving on canned food and avoiding both zombies and alliance patrols. One evening, he stumbled upon a group of civilians trapped in a collapsed subway station, surrounded by a horde of ravenous zombies. For the first time in months, he forgot his heartbreak. Grabbing a rusted pipe, he charged into the fray, shielding the civilians as he led them to an emergency exit. “Why are you helping us?” a child asked him, clinging to his sleeve. Husnain5716 paused; for years, he’d done everything for VixentheFox, but this was the first time he’d acted for someone else. “Because that’s what people do in this world—we don’t just survive, we look out for each other,” he said, a new resolve flickering in his eyes.
Back at the C137 base, the battle had turned in their favor. Rvx, enraged by the defeat, accused VixentheFox of sabotaging the plan. “You promised me victory!” he snarled, pointing a gun at her. VixentheFox remained calm, a cold smile playing on her lips. “Victory wasn’t the goal—chaos was,” she said. Before Rvx could react, a bullet pierced his shoulder. VixentheFox’s personal guards had surrounded them. “You’re too arrogant to lead,” she told him, stepping over his injured body. “The LDE Alliance was never yours to begin with.” She ordered her men to take Rvx prisoner, then turned her gaze toward the C137 and L4H forces. A truce was the only way to regroup—and she knew just how to negotiate it.
Days later, a meeting was held in a neutral zone: a former hospital cleared of zombies. G-morty, Jhayyyy, and VixentheFox sat across from each other, guns laid on the table between them. “We’re wasting resources fighting each other while zombies overrun the west district,” VixentheFox said, her tone feigning sincerity. “Let’s form a temporary alliance to retake the water treatment plant there—whoever controls it controls survival.” G-morty exchanged a glance with Jhayyyy. The water plant was critical, but trusting VixentheFox was a death sentence. Just as G-morty was about to refuse, the door burst open. Husnain5716 stumbled in, followed by the civilians he’d rescued. “She’s lying!” he shouted, pointing at VixentheFox. “I heard her men talking—she plans to blow up the plant after we clear it, so no one can have it!”
VixentheFox’s expression darkened. She lunged for her gun, but G-morty was faster. He pressed the barrel to her forehead, his eyes cold. “You’ve manipulated everyone long enough,” he said. The L4H warriors moved to secure VixentheFox’s guards, and the room fell silent. Outside, a zombie horde’s distant howl reminded them of the true enemy. G-morty lowered his gun. “Lock her up,” he ordered. “We’ll deal with her after we take the water plant.”
As the three alliances prepared to march, Husnain5716 approached G-morty. “I’m sorry for what I did before,” he said, his voice earnest. “I want to make it right.” G-morty nodded. In this Doomsday world, redemption was rare—but necessary. The group set off at dawn, their footsteps echoing through the empty streets. The water plant loomed ahead, its walls covered in zombie blood. Little did they know, VixentheFox had one last trick up her sleeve: a hidden bomb planted deep within the plant, set to detonate when the first alliance member stepped inside. The battle for survival had only just begun.
